Kitchen Revamp

Nevermind the mess on the counters but back near halloween of last year we painted our kitchen chickadee yellow! I think it goes great with some of the strawberry stuff I have. This was the first step in making our new house our home.

Since the first revamp I have made new curtains out of fabric that was on clearance at JoAnn's. It was a steal! Outdoor fabric for rough weather is perfect for boys and a dog. I also recovered our stools that go under the peninsula with the same fabric. I will add photos soon. I will make sure to clean really good first so it doesn't look like it always does! ha!

Now this gem of an idea I am very proud of! We have a eat in kitchen which mean no space. In the dinning room we added a small counter and floor to ceiling cabinets to cram all of our stuff. when you open the closest cabinet to the hallway it bumps the wall. We actually still have payments on these dang cabinet til next month so there is no way I was going to let the wall destroy them or add anything to the outside of the cabinet door to prevent this.
I used 4 cork tiles and covered them with sample fabric from a furniture store. Then, I added dollar store photo mattes with a few family photos. Each time the cabinet door opens it bumps my brother in the face instead of the wall!

A pile of craft

In order of pics I have a duct tape wallet, superhero outfitting for nephew eli, Harvey with his derby car of a log amusement park ride carrying some Lego guys and Darth Vader, the trophies I made for the derby that year, a gift for a friend's daughter, leprechaun trap, easter eggs, party supplies for a friend's birthday, bathroom wall, boys keep all dishes for bathroom supplies, a tree swing, even took a stab at quilting, sharpie drawings, jewelry center, prettied up my cabinets with paper.

From Christmas on I have had my craft room up in running I will post a few more covering what I have been up to since then!

Just over a two year break!

We moved, started new jobs, grew older and more over the last 2 years. I will run through the lot of crafts I have been working on. It is truly a lot since I have a full swinging craft room under foot!

Won-ton Breakfast Quiche

Oh my goodness won-ton breakfast quiches are so delicious! There are many, many ways to make these. Here is a photo how to of how I did it.

Ingredients are eggs, won-tons, cheese, green pepper, onion, pepper, and turkey sausage. Cook turkey sausage in a skillet.
Shred it!

Chop it!

Add it.
Crack it!

Add it.

Mix.
Season. Leave the eggs running and they will finish cooking in the oven.
Spray the muffin tin with Pam, place in won-tons (i used 2 in each), and spoon in mixture.
Top with cheese.
Place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
Yum!

Looks even my breakfast is happy I am going to eat it!

Kiddie Car Wash

I made this for Simon's 10th birthday party and it went over great!! The total cost was about $16 and it is so much better than a sprinkler. I found instructions on www.instructables.com which is an awesome page.

Any Bill & Ted fans?!? I took some scrap wood and painted it with left over paint. I finally got a cricut machine. woo hoo!! I even got a great deal on it through a friend. It is barely used and she sold it for $50! Can't beat that! So first I needed to make an awesome Bill & Ted wall hanging. "Be excellent to each other."
The silhouettes of Bill & Ted I found by searching images online then printing and using an x-acto knife to cut them out. Everything is decoupaged onto the sign.

Cassette Tape Shelf

We had an old wooden case for storing cassette tapes and I should of taken a before picture. I cut a lot of the dividers to create shelves and spray painted it red. Now I have an awesome shelf for nic-nacs and our pinewood derby cars! Top right car is Ghostbuster's Ecto 1 and top right is a brick. ha! The brick beat Ecto 1 in the race.
Never throw anything away that can be revamped into something awesome!!
